1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing February 24 to 28, 2020, as Public Schools Week.
1.3WHEREAS, those who display an exceptional commitment to excellence in the education
1.4of our young people perform a service deserving of special legislative recognition; and
1.5WHEREAS, as nine out of ten students in America attend public schools, Public Schools
1.6Week is a time for teachers, specialists, administrators, teacher educators, parents, school boards,
1.7and policymakers to join together in spotlighting the achievements made by our public education
1.8system; and
1.9WHEREAS, Public Schools Week serves to honor the significant contributions and
1.10accomplishments public school educators and education advocates bring to our public schools and
1.11communities each day; and
1.12WHEREAS, February 24 to 28, 2020, has been designated as Public Schools Week, a national
1.13celebration of the many wonderful events, activities, and accomplishments that take place in our
1.14public schools; and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16recognizes February 24 to 28, 2020, as Public Schools Week.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the Minnesota Parent
1.20Teacher Association.
