1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr. of Woodbury on his 80th birthday.
1.3WHEREAS, our communities are blessed by the presence of those who have lived long lives
1.4and who are part of our living history; and
1.5WHEREAS, having an 80th birthday is a joyous occasion and a time to honor and congratulate
1.6the celebrant; and
1.7WHEREAS, the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr., a servant leader in the city of Woodbury,
1.8has faithfully served in the capacity of Pastor of Saint Luke Christian Center; and
1.9WHEREAS, the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr. has faithfully served in ministry for 35
1.10years with 16 years in the city of Woodbury in which he retired from serving as Pastor in November
1.11of 2016; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr., as a community leader and Pastor, worked
1.13closely with the Woodbury Police Department from 2000 to 2006 in an effort to better the
1.14community; and
1.15WHEREAS, the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr. was named parent of the month in Minnesota
1.16in 2006 along with his devoted wife, Reverend Charles Etta Hunter; and
1.17WHEREAS, the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr. and the Reverend Charles Etta Hunter have
1.18been married for 44 years and are loving and devoted parents to 20 children, grandparents, and
1.19great-grandparents; and
1.20WHEREAS, on March 15, 2018, the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr. reached age 80, a
1.21major milestone birthday that warrants celebration and acknowledgment for his contribution to the
1.22city of Woodbury and the state of Minnesota at-large; and
2.1NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
2.2congratulates the Reverend Roosevelt Hunter, Sr. of Woodbury on his 80th birthday.
2.3BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
2.4enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
2.5Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the Reverend Roosevelt
