1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Edina High School boys hockey team on winning the 2014 State
1.3High School Class AA boys hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, perennial hockey powerhouse Edina earned the top seed in the 2014 Section
1.72AA playoffs with a 20 - 4 - 1 regular season record; and
1.8WHEREAS, the Hornets scored a total of 13 goals to blow past Prior Lake and
1.9Bloomington Jefferson to earn a berth in the 2014 Class AA state hockey championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the team then strung together three consecutive days of dominating hockey,
1.11dispatching Stillwater Area, Eagan, and Lakeville North at the Xcel Energy Center by a total score
1.12of 17 to 4 to capture a second consecutive state championship, their 12th overall; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to Kobi Boe, Paul Meyer, Ben Foley, Calvin Pugh, Ryan Zuhlsdorf,
1.15Kieffer Bellows, Cullen Raasch, Cullen Munson, Alec Oesterreich, Patrick Haug, Miquel Fidler,
1.16Parker Mismash, Garrett Wait, Casey Dornbach, Matt Masterman, Dylan Malmquist, Henry
1.17Bowlby, Sam Fuss, Tyler Nanne, and Andrew Rohkohl, as well as Head Coach Curt Giles,
1.18Assistant Coaches Dick Blooston, Dan Delianedis, Dave Terwilliger, and Dave Langevin, and
1.19Student Managers Jack Vorlicky and Chris Enriquez on winning the 2014 State High School Class
1.20AA hockey championship.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.22an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
2.1the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
2.2Edina High School.
