1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Andover High School boys hockey team on winning the
1.32022 State High School Class 2A boys hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Andover hockey team participated in the 2022 State High School Class 2A
1.7boys hockey tournament from March 10-12, 2022, at the Xcel Energy Center; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Maple Grove Crimson 6-5 in double overtime in the final
1.9game of the tournament to win their first state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Andover's boy's hockey team joins the Andover girl's hockey team in
1.11capturing the Class 2A championship, making Andover the second school to sweep the
boy's and
1.12girl's state hockey titles in the same season; and
1.13WHEREAS, the Huskies finished the season with an outstanding 25-5-1 record; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15congratulations are extended to the members of the Andover High School boys hockey team for
1.16their sportsmanship and skill.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature
and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal
of Andover
1.20High School.
