A bill for an act

relating to disaster relief; authorizing state grants to eligible utility cooperatives
to match federal disaster assistance;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section
12A.15, subdivision 1.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 12A.15, subdivision 1, is amended to read:
    Subdivision 1. State match for federal assistance. State appropriations may be
used for payment of the state match for federal disaster assistance to state agencies. If
authorized in law, state appropriations may be used to pay all or a portion of the local
share of the match for federal funds for political subdivisions and utility cooperatives
under section 12.221. An appropriation from the bond proceeds fund may be used to fund
federal match obligations for publicly owned capital improvement projects resulting from
the receipt of federal disaster assistance.
