1.2relating to natural resources; appropriating money for Gulf oil spill assessment.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; GULF OIL SPILL ASSESSMENT.
1.5$125,000 in fiscal year 2012 and $125,000 in fiscal year 2013 are appropriated from
1.6the environment and natural resources trust fund to the commissioner of natural resources
1.7in cooperation with and for agreements with the United States Geological Survey, the
1.8University of Minnesota, and North Dakota State University to assess the impact of the
1.92010 BP Gulf oil spill on migratory populations of common loons and other migratory
1.10birds in Minnesota, share the information with the public, assist with other related efforts,
1.11and assist in leveraging any funds made available as a result of legal settlements or other
1.12legal actions resulting from the Gulf oil spill. This appropriation is available until June 30,
1.132014, by which time the project must be completed and final products delivered.
