1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for a Minnesota African
1.3American History Museum in Minneapolis; authorizing the sale and issuance of
1.4state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. MINNESOTA AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY MUSEUM AND
1.7CULTURAL CENTER.
1.8    Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $1,200,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.9fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to
1.10Hennepin County to predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip the renovation of a
1.11historic mansion for the Minnesota African American History Museum in Minneapolis,
1.12subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.695.
1.13    Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in subdivision 1 from the
1.14bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.15bonds of the state in an amount up to $1,200,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.16the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.17Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.18EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
