A House concurrent resolution
relating to the peacetime emergency declared by Governor Tim Walz by Executive
Order 20-01.

WHEREAS, the people of Minnesota remain at risk from the infectious disease known as
COVID-19 and require the united, cooperative, and engaged response of the executive, legislative,
and judicial branches of government; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of Minnesota that the House
commends Governor Tim Walz for his leadership of the state during the infectious disease outbreak
known as COVID-19 and encourages the Governor to continue to exercise all tools available under
law to keep Minnesotans healthy, safe, and secure for the duration of the outbreak.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House stands ready to be called upon, in regular or
special session, to assist the governor in the state's response to the outbreak or in further defining
the governor's powers to coordinate the response.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House declines to exercise its right to terminate the
peacetime emergency declared by Executive Order 20-01 under Minnesota Statutes, section 12.31,
subdivision 2, paragraph (b), and further waives its right to terminate that emergency for a period
of 30 days from the date this resolution is adopted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives is
directed to prepare a copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by his signature and that of the
Speaker of the House of Representatives and transmit it to the Governor of the State of Minnesota
and the Secretary of the Senate.
