SENATE BILL NO. 719

January 15, 2020, Introduced by Senator LUCIDO and referred to the Committee on Local Government.

A bill to allow an elected official to place constituent services information in certain local government offices; and to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 1. As used in this act:

(a) "Constituent services information" means nonpolitical information from an elected official that includes, but is not limited to, booklets, coffee hour notices, and event schedules.

(b) "Elected official" means an individual who holds an elective office in this state or a local government in this state.

(c) "Local government" means a county, city, township, or village of this state.

Sec. 3. An elected official may place his or her constituent services information in a local government office that is publicly accessible and located within the district that the elected official represents.
