ENROLLED SENATE BILL No. 555

AN ACT to amend 1982 PA 162, entitled “An act to revise, consolidate, and classify the laws relating to the organization and regulation of certain nonprofit corporations; to prescribe their duties, rights, powers, immunities, and liabilities; to provide for the authorization of foreign nonprofit corporations within this state; to impose certain duties on certain state departments; to prescribe fees; to prescribe penalties for violations of this act; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts,” by amending section 913 (MCL 450.2913), as amended by 2014 PA 557.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

Sec. 913. A county clerk may destroy the copies of any corporate documents of a domestic or foreign corporation that were forwarded to his or her office under 1931 PA 327, MCL 450.98 to 450.192, a former provision of 1931 PA 327, or its predecessor act. The clerk may destroy these records or dispose of them under section 11 of the Michigan history center act, 2016 PA 470, MCL 399.811.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.

Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. 564 of the 99th Legislature is enacted into law.

This act is ordered to take immediate effect.
