A bill to amend 2013 PA 240, entitled
"Michigan state capitol historic site act,"
(MCL 4.1941 to 4.1949) by amending the title and by adding section
10.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
TITLE
An act to designate the state capitol and the grounds of the
state
capitol as a state historic site; and to regulate activities
conducted at the state capitol and on the grounds of the state
capitol; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state
agencies and officials; and to prescribe penalties and provide
remedies.
Sec. 10. (1) An individual shall not operate a drone within
the airspace above the Michigan State Capitol Historic Site or the
grounds of the Michigan State Capitol Historic Site unless the
individual has received authorization from the commission.
(2) An individual who violates this section is guilty of a
misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 93 days or
a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.
(3) As used in this section, "drone" means an unmanned
aircraft guided by remote control or an onboard computer.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
