A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1315.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1315. If a school district, intermediate school district,
or public school academy has a policy that provides for a check of
a visitor's identification before the visitor is allowed to enter a
school building, the school board or board of directors shall
ensure that a parent of a child enrolled in the school or other
adult visitor is not denied entrance to the school building as a
result of the identification check unless the identification check
discloses that the person is registered under the sex offenders
registration act, 1994 PA 295, MCL 28.721 to 28.736.
