            Reps. Crawford, Cochran, Driskell, Faris, Hoadley, Hooker, Hovey-Wright, Howrylak, Hughes, Kelly, LaVoy, Love, Moss, Potvin, Schor, Whiteford, Wittenberg and Yanez offered the following resolution:

            House Resolution No. 266.

            A resolution to declare April 2016 as Paralyzed Veterans of America Month in the state of Michigan.

            Whereas, Approximately 44,000 veterans live with spinal cord injury or disease. Paralyzed Veterans of America is the only veterans organization dedicated to serving veterans with spinal cord injury or disease and the group highlights the unique challenges veterans with spinal cord injury or disease face, and how people can get involved and help; and

            Whereas, Paralyzed Veterans of America has been on a mission for 70 years to change lives and build brighter futures for our seriously injured heroes and to empower these brave men and women with what they need to achieve the freedom and independence they fought for; and             Whereas, Paralyzed Veterans of America advocates for quality VA health care, much-deserved veterans benefits, and pushes to make America more accessible; and

            Whereas, Paralyzed Veterans of America national officers and their 34 chapters represent thousands of veterans in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico; now, therefore, be it

            Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body declare April 2016 as Paralyzed Veterans of America Month in the state of Michigan.
