A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 106c.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 106c. (1) During the time that the
governor proclaims a state of emergency relating to an outbreak of COVID-19, an
eligible individual includes all of the following:
(a) An individual 18 years of age and under who does not have health benefits coverages provided by a carrier.
(b) An individual over 55 years of age who does not have health benefits coverages provided by a carrier.
(c) An immunocompromised individual who does not have health benefits coverages provided by a carrier.
(2) This section does not apply after January 1, 2021.
(3) As used in this section:
(a) "Carrier" means that term as defined in section 3 of the autism coverage reimbursement act, 2012 PA 101, MCL 550.1833.
(b) "COVID-19" means the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus.
