A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding sections 21317 and 21717a.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 21317. (1) As soon as reasonably
possible, but not later than 12 hours after a resident of a home for the aged
tests positive for a communicable disease, the home for the aged shall provide
notice to all employees of that home for the aged that a resident has tested
positive for a communicable disease.
(2)
A home for the aged shall provide the notice required under subsection (1) each
time a resident of the home for the aged tests positive for a communicable
disease.
(3)
As used in this section, "communicable disease" means that term as
defined in section 5101.
Sec. 21717a. (1) As soon as reasonably
possible, but not later than 12 hours after a resident tests positive for a
communicable disease, the nursing home shall provide notice to all employees of
that nursing home that a resident has tested positive for a communicable disease.
(2)
A nursing home shall provide the notice required under subsection (1) each time
a resident tests positive for a communicable disease.
(3) As used in this section, "communicable disease" means that term as defined in section 5101.
