HOUSE BILL NO. 5999

A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled

"The insurance code of 1956,"

(MCL 500.100 to 500.8302) by adding section 272.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 272. (1) The department shall annually prepare a report that contains information regarding all of the following for the preceding calendar year:

(a) Complaints related to payment or reimbursement for treatment or rehabilitative occupational training under section 3157.

(b) Complaints related to payment or reimbursement for attendant care under section 3157.

(c) Complaints related to utilization reviews under section 3157a.

(2) For each category of complaints received that is included in a report required under subsection (1), the department shall include in the report all of the following:

(a) For each complaint, the number of patients included in the complaint.

(b) The final disposition for each complaint.

(c) The number of complaints for each insurer that provides the security required under section 3101.

(3) The department shall post a report required under this section on its internet website.
