A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled
"The revised school code,"
(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1277d.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 1277d. (1) As part of the school liaison program established under section 1277c, the department may host an annual or other periodic statewide networking conference for all of the school liaisons from across this state to discuss best practices, share challenges and ideas from their schools and regions, and otherwise promote the interchange of information among public education stakeholders. If the department hosts a networking conference as described in this section, the department is encouraged to seek sponsors from among public education vendors, nonprofit organizations, foundations, and other interested parties to offset costs of the conference for the department and attendees.
(2) Intermediate school districts are encouraged to arrange and conduct periodic regional networking conferences for school liaisons representing public schools within the intermediate school district for the same purposes within the region as described in subsection (1) for a statewide networking conference.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 5833 (request no. 00084'19) of the 100th Legislature is enacted into law.
