A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled

"The insurance code of 1956,"

(MCL 500.100 to 500.8302) by adding section 3406x.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 3406x. An insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, or renews in this state a health insurance policy that provides coverage for prescription drugs shall provide coverage for a hormonal contraception patch, self-administered hormonal contraception, or vaginal ring hormonal contraceptive that is covered under an insured health insurance policy and that is dispensed by a pharmacist as provided in section 17744g of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17744g.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No. 5655 (request no. 03379'21) of the 101st Legislature is enacted into law.
