A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 18f.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 18f. (1) The department shall maintain child welfare
staffing ratios so that each individual, bi-county, and tri-county
configuration has sufficient child welfare caseworkers and
supervisors to maintain, at a minimum, the following ratios:
(a) Twelve cases per each child protection investigation
worker.
(b) Seventeen cases per each child protection ongoing worker.
(c) Fifteen cases per each direct foster care or direct
adoption worker.
(d) Ninety cases per each purchase of service monitor worker.
(e) Thirty licensed foster homes per each foster home
licensing worker.
(f) Five child welfare workers per each child welfare
supervisor.
(2) As used in this section, "worker" means an individual who
is employed and working full time. Worker does not include a worker
on extended medical leave, a trainee who has not completed
training, or a worker with a restricted caseload.
