HOUSE BILL NO. 4845

A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 31b.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 31b. (1) The secretary of state shall conduct signature verification training for county, city, and township clerks before the even year primary election, and before other elections as the secretary of state considers advisable. The signature verification training must include, but not be limited to, information on matching and verifying an elector's signature on an election document.

(2) The secretary of state shall promulgate rules to implement the signature verification training required under subsection (1) in accordance with and subject to the administrative procedures act of 1969, 1969 PA 306, MCL 24.201 to 24.328.
