A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled
"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"
by amending section 81106 (MCL 324.81106), as added by 1995 PA 58.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 81106. (1) An ORV is exempt from the motor vehicle
accident
claims act, Act No. 198 of the Public Acts of 1965, being
sections
1965 PA 198, MCL 257.1101 to 257.1133, of the Michigan
Compiled
Laws, and from sections 3101 to 3179 and from chapter 31
of
the insurance code of 1956, Act No. 218 of the Public Acts of
1956,
being sections 1956 PA 218,
MCL 500.3101 to 500.3179. of
the
Michigan
Compiled Laws.
(2) An owner of an ORV operated on a road, street, or highway
under section 81131 shall carry a policy of liability insurance in
amounts described in section 81121(2) for bodily injury, death, or
injury to or destruction of property of others resulting from such
operation.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
