A bill to amend 1974 PA 338, entitled
"Economic development corporations act,"
(MCL 125.1601 to 125.1636) by adding section 12a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 12a. Beginning October 1, 2009, if the governing body of
a municipality has not created a project citizens' district council
for a project plan, the governing body of a municipality may select
a certified housing development organization or a 501(c)(3)
organization with geographic boundaries and a quality-of-life
mission acceptable to the governing body to act as the project
citizens' district council under this act.
