HOUSE BILL No. 4570

Cochran, Rabhi, Peterson, Pagan, Hertel, Green, Ellison, Lasinski, Hammoud, Geiss, Chang, Garrett, Hoadley, Sabo, Sneller, Greimel, Sowerby, Moss, Jones, Yanez, Neeley, Phelps, Schor, Wittenberg, Robinson, Santana, Liberati, LaGrand, Faris, Brinks and Zemke and referred to the Committee on Energy Policy.

 

     A bill to amend 1969 PA 165, entitled

 

"An act to authorize the public service commission to establish and

enforce gas safety standards; and to provide penalties for

violations thereof,"

 

by amending section 3 (MCL 483.153).

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 3. Any A person who engages in the transportation of gas

 

or who owns or operates a pipeline facility shall do all of the

 

following:

 

     (a) Comply with the requirements of any standard prescribed by

 

the commission.

 

     (b) Comply with part 618 of the natural resources and

 

environmental and protection act, 1994 PA 451, MCL 324.61801 to

 

324.61809.

 

     (c) (b) File and comply with a plan of inspection and

 

maintenance as required by section 4 and comply with the plan.


     (d) (c) Permit access to and copying of records, make reports

 

and provide information and permit entry and inspection as required

 

by sections 5 and 6.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 4572 (request no.

 

02439'17) of the 99th Legislature is enacted into law.
