A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled

"Michigan vehicle code,"

(MCL 257.1 to 257.923) by adding section 811jj.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 811jj. (1) No later than December 31, 2022, the secretary of state shall develop under section 811e and issue under section 811f a fund-raising plate recognizing the ChadTough Foundation. The fund-raising plate authorized in this section must bear the logo of the ChadTough Foundation and contain the word "ChadTough".

(2) The ChadTough Foundation fund is created within the state treasury. The state treasurer may receive money or other assets from any source for deposit into the fund. The state treasurer shall direct the investment of the fund. The state treasurer shall credit to the fund interest and earnings from fund investments. Money in the ChadTough Foundation fund at the close of the fiscal year must remain in the fund and must not lapse to the general fund.

(3) The secretary of state shall transfer the donation money from the sale of fund-raising plates recognizing the ChadTough Foundation to the state treasurer, who shall credit the donation money to the ChadTough Foundation fund created under subsection (2).

(4) The state treasurer shall disburse money in the ChadTough Foundation fund created under subsection (2) on a quarterly basis to the ChadTough Foundation.

(5) The state treasurer shall be the administrator of the ChadTough Foundation fund created under subsection (2) for auditing purposes.

(6) Money from the ChadTough Foundation fund must be expended on research, technology, patient support, and education regarding pediatric brain tumors.
