HOUSE BILL No. 4230

 

February 24, 2015, Introduced by Reps. Potvin, Leutheuser, Howrylak, Kelly, Singh, LaVoy, Aaron Miller, Johnson, Liberati, Heise, Hughes, Tedder, Lauwers, Jenkins and Geiss and referred to the Committee on Education.

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1272e.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1272e. The department shall identify fund-raisers that

 

are exempt from federal nutrition standards and take any other

 

action as may be necessary for public schools in this state to be

 

able to allow fund-raising sales on school premises during school

 

hours of foods and beverages that do not meet federal nutrition

 

standards prescribed by the United States department of

 

agriculture.
