An Act relative to electronic identity theft.
Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 266 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 120F the following section:-
Section 120G. Whoever, without authorization, knowingly creates or promotes a web page or blog, so-called, that claims to be the property or the identity of a person other than themselves, shall be punished by imprisonment in the house of correction for not more than 30 days or by a fine of not more than $500 or both for a first offense. A second or subsequent offense shall be punished by imprisonment in the house of correction for not more than 6 months or by a fine of not more than $1,000 or both.
