SENATE RESOLUTION

     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Operation Classroom for 25 years of partnership ministry, and honoring its founders, Bob Bowman and John Shettle, and executive directors, Joe and Carolyn Wagner.

    Whereas, Operation Classroom is an Indiana-based mission program that provides education and healthcare assistance in Liberia and Sierra Leone, West Africa;

    Whereas, Since 1987, Operation Classroom has provided assistance and resources to more than twenty schools, two hospitals, and multiple health clinics in Liberia and Sierra Leone;

    Whereas, Operation Classroom has assisted with the construction and rehabilitation of classrooms, provided financial assistance to thousands of children, and shipped nearly ninety container loads of school and medical supplies to the two countries;

    Whereas, Operation Classroom also sponsors work teams to travel to West Africa to assist with construction projects, school and church programming, teacher-training, and medical assistance;

    Whereas, Founders Bob Bowman and John Shettle have been actively engaged with Operation Classroom since the creation of the program;

    Whereas, Executive directors Joe and Carolyn Wagner are retiring after 25 years of selfless dedication to the development and cultivation of Operation Classroom; and

    Whereas, Governor Mike Pence has proclaimed Sunday, April 28, 2013 as "Operation Classroom Celebration Day": Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates Operation Classroom upon its 25th anniversary.
    SECTION 2. The Indiana Senate honors founder Bob Bowman, founder John Shettle, executive director Joe Wagner, and executive director Carolyn Wagner for their dedication to Operation Classroom for its entire 25 years.
    SECTION 3. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit copies of this Resolution to Bob Bowman, John Shettle, Joe Wagner, and Carolyn Wagner.
