A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Brigadier General Ross
Ridge for his service in Afghanistan commanding the
anti-corruption unit, Task Force 2010.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Brigadier General
Ross Ridge for his service in Afghanistan as commanding of
the anti-corruption unit, Task Force 2010.
Whereas, Brigadier General Ross Ridge grew up in
Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University
in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in political science;
Whereas, In his career as a military officer, Ross Ridge has
commanded artillery and infantry units and served in Germany,
Korea, Thailand and Haiti;
Whereas, In 2007, Ross Ridge was deployed to Iraq where
he worked in the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad as the Chief of
Staff, Strategic Effects Directorate, which was focused on
political and economic development in Iraq;
Whereas, In 2010, Ross Ridge became commander of Task
Force 2010 - an interagency military unit investigating
corruption in Afghanistan;
Whereas, Task Force 2010 focuses on attacking criminal
theft rings preying on the movement of equipment, fuel and
cargo and pursuing administrative actions against contractors
associated with criminal networks and insurgents;
Whereas, Under Ross Ridge's leadership, Task Force 2010
reviewed numerous bank transactions and financial accounts
and made recommendations to commanders with regard to
contract activities that resulted in a cost avoidance of over $1.2
billion; and
Whereas, Brigadier General Ross Ridge is returning from
his deployment in Afghanistan: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana State Senate honors Brigadier General Ross Ridge for his service in Afghanistan commanding the anti- corruption unit, Task Force 2010.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to Brigadier General Ross Ridge.
