A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Ron Manahan upon
the conclusion of his presidency at Grace College & Seminary.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Ron Manahan
upon the conclusion of his presidency at Grace College &
Seminary.
Whereas, Dr. Ron Manahan began his service to Grace in
1977;
Whereas, Dr. Manahan's first position at Grace was as the
chair of the division of religion and philosophy. He then went
on to become the assistant academic dean in 1985, the vice
president of academic affairs in 1987, and the college's first
provost in 1990;
Whereas, Dr. Manahan has served as the president of
Grace College since 1994;
Whereas, During his twenty years as president, he has
helped advance the institution through the development of new
programs, construction of new facilities, expansion of global
outreach, and increased tuition affordability;
Whereas, Because of Dr. Manahan's leadership, Grace College became one of the few universities in the country to
develop and offer an innovative three-year degree program for
each of its majors;
Whereas, Additionally during his presidency, Grace
College received several professional accreditations in
counseling, business, teacher education, and theology; and
Whereas, Upon the conclusion of his presidency in May,
Dr. Manahan will continue to serve Grace College as he
assumes the role of senior advisor to the president for the 2013-
2014 academic year: Therefore,
SECTION 1.The Indiana Senate honors Dr. Ron Manahan as he
concludes his 20 years as president of Grace College & Seminary.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Dr. Ron Manahan.
