A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Carmel High
School boys tennis team on their 2011 State Championship.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Carmel
High School boys tennis team on their 2011 State
Championship.
Whereas, Carmel High School swept their opponent, third
ranked North Central, 5-0 to claim their second straight State
Championship in boys tennis. The team finished 18-0 during the
2011 season and only lost three points all year;
Whereas, Freshman Sameer Kumar finished his season
undefeated with a record of 20-0. Juniors Charlie Emhardt
and Patrick Farrell also remained perfect, each with a record
of 23-0. Seniors Connor Dunn, Mihir Kumar, and Elliott Yee,
along with Junior Chris Quammen, each sustained just a single
loss all season;
Whereas, In addition to a near perfect season, Junior Connor Dunn is the recipient of the Mental Attitude Award in boys tennis. The award is presented by the IHSAA executive committee each year to an outstanding senior participant in the boys tennis state finals. Dunn, who played number one doubles for Carmel, has been named to various all-state and all- conference teams. He maintains a 3.91 GPA academically and
has been named a National Merit Scholar Commend student;
and
Whereas, The fourth championship in nine years for
Carmel Coach Mike Bostic put the boys tennis team in the
running as one of the most talented boys tennis teams in
Indiana history: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates the Carmel High
School boys tennis team on their 2011 State Championship.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Carmel High School boys
tennis team, Head Coach Mike Bostic, Athletic Director Jim Inskeep,
and the Carmel Clay school board.
