I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the students of the
Whitko High School Art Department who participated in the
42nd World School Children's Art Exhibition in the Republic
of China, Taipai.
Whereas, In an effort to promote international
communication and friendship that crosses borders and
promotes cultural understanding among the younger
generation, the Republic of China sponsored the 42nd
international art contest;
Whereas, The competition was open to students from 48
different countries from ages six through fifteen;
Whereas, Whitko High School was one of five high schools
representing the United States in the exhibition. The awards
received by students this year made for a total of 27 state, 37
national, and 140 international awards to date; and
Whereas, The art students at Whitko High School have used their talents of artistic expression and creativity to represent the state of Indiana, as well as out country, in an international competition: Therefore,
