continue to report vaccination as one of the best ways to
eliminate the serious effects of preventable diseases;
Whereas, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention,
in their 2010 National Immunization Survey, found an increase
in the administration of vaccines for various diseases
including; measles, mumps, rubella, rotavirus, pneumococcal
disease, hepatitis A, and haemophilus influenza type B;
Whereas, National Immunization Survey results indicated
that the vaccines boast successful defense rates against polio
virus, chickenpox, and the entire hepatitis B series, all of which
have remained stable at 90% or higher;
Whereas, The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, as operated by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, reports that adolescents between 13 and 17 years of age routinely receive immunizations for menigococcal
conjugate, tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis;

improves the health of the community by reducing serious
communicable disease risks throughout the state of Indiana by
minimizing or eliminating outbreaks;
Whereas, The Women in Government Foundation, Inc. is a
national non-profit, non-partisan organization of female state
legislators that provides leadership opportunities, networking
expert forums, and educational resources to address and
resolve complex public policy issues. Women in Government

emphasize the importance of lifetime vaccinations, in order to
save lives and encourage a healthier population; and
Whereas, The continued use of vaccinations for children,
adolescents, and adults will ensure the safety and health of
Indiana residents: Therefore,
