SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing Spencer Varner of the Yorktown tennis team for his positive attitude during difficult times.

    Whereas, Spencer Varner is an important, senior member of the Yorktown tennis team;

    Whereas, The tennis team made a resurgence as a contender last season;

    Whereas, Spencer was prohibited from playing his senior season because an illness limited Spencer's school attendance to half days;

    Whereas, Spencer refused to allow an IHSAA rule to keep him from supporting his team. The Senior tennis player resolved to attend all home and away games, and ultimately became the team manager; and

    Whereas, The team's success was in part because of Spencer's leadership and resolve: Therefore,



Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:



    SECTION 1. That the Senate recognizes Spencer Varner of the Yorktown tennis team for his positive attitude during difficult times.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to Yorktown High School and Spencer Varner.
