    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Superintendent Mike Pettibone upon his retirement from Adams Central Community Schools.

    Whereas, Mike Pettibone is retiring from his position as Superintendent of Adams Central Community Schools after 37 years of dedication to public education;

    Whereas, Mike has served Adams Central Community Schools for over ten years;

    Whereas, Before joining Adams Central Community Schools, Mike held positions at South Bend Community Schools and Plymouth Community Schools;

    Whereas, Mike has held positions at all levels in elementary, middle, and high schools;

    Whereas, In addition to his role as superintendent, Mike has been a teacher, a coach, a high school principal, an elementary school principal, and an assistant middle school principal;

    Whereas, Mike has also served the State of Indiana as a State School Board Member;

    Whereas, Mike has further supported his community as

an Adams County Economic Development Board Member, Adams County Safety Park President, Past President of both the Adams County Extension Board and United Way;

    Whereas, Mike has received several honors, including the 1990 Indiana's Distinguished Principal Award, the 1994 Marshall County Reading Council's Contribution to Literacy Award, the 1995 Council of Exceptional Children 's State Administrator of the Year Award, and the 2008 IBCA District II's Administrator of the Year Award; and

    Whereas, Mike Pettibone is greatly respected and deeply appreciated by his colleagues and students: Therefore,


Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:


    SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly honors Mike Pettibone for his dedication to public education and congratulates him upon his retirement.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mike Pettibone.
