SENATE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION No. _____

    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Penn High School Volleyball team on winning the 4A state championship.

     Whereas, The Penn High School Volleyball team won its first state championship on November 6, 2010 when it swept Muncie Central, the defending state champions, 25-18, 30- 28, and 25-22;

    Whereas, Kaitlyn Hickey's crushing kill down the middle of the floor capped the Class 4A heavyweight battle at Ball State University, setting off the Penn celebration;

    Whereas, Penn's fantastic year included a first ever win over Muncie Central on September 11th, a school record 39 victories, the first ever one loss season, and the ultimate capstone, a first ever state championship;

    Whereas, Penn won its final 33 matches of the season after suffering their lone defeat, a 2-1 loss to Class 2A state champion, and number two nationally ranked Muncie Burris back in August 2010;

    Whereas, The final was the last for Head Coach Lisa Pawlik, and for her sister, Assistant Coach Maureen Hale. Pawlik retired on March 10, 2011 after 17 seasons at the helm. She finished with 514 wins, five state finals appearances, 11 seasons of 30 or more victories, and a state
