RESOLUTION No. _____



    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the Borden High School boys' basketball team for winning the 2012-2013 season IHSAA state title.

    Whereas, The Borden Braves defeated the Triton Trojans 55-50 to win the Class A state championship game;

    Whereas, The team is coached by Doc Nash, with Assistant Coaches Ray Weatherford and Kaden Nolot;

    Whereas, The Borden Braves 2012-2013 state title champions include Billy Kirchgessner #11, Jalen McCoy #24, Michael Lynch #31, Cody Bachman #34, Garrett Vick #21, Josh Vollstedt #4, Josh Ruedinger #33, Brian McGee #3, Zack Gillam #22, Kyle Kruer #32, Jacob Schafer #35, and Julien Magallanes #43;

    Whereas, The Braves led the Trojans the entire game;

    Whereas, Senior Jalen McCoy scored three 3 -pointers and finished with a team-high of fifteen points;

    Whereas, Senior Michael Lynch, who has been awarded the Trester Award for Mental Attitude, scored thirteen points;

    Whereas, Senior Cody Bachman scored ten points,

including five of six free throws in the last stretch;

    Whereas, Senior Billy Kirchgessner had nine points, five rebounds, and led the team in assists and steals;

    Whereas, The team received tremendous support from its school and community during their exciting journey to the state championship; and

    Whereas, The Braves' hard work, dedication, and perseverance deserves extraordinary praise for securing Borden High School its first state title in any sport: Therefore,             

Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:


    SECTION 1.    The Indiana General Assembly honors and congratulates the Borden High School boys' basketball team on their 2012-2013 Class A state champion title.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit copies of this Resolution to Jalen McCoy, Michael Lynch, Cody Bachman, Billy Kirchgessner, Josh Vollstedt, Garrett Vick, Josh Ruedinger, Brian McGee, Zack Gillam, Kyle Kruer, Jacob Schafer, Julien Magallanes, Kielan Certeza, Evan Adams, Adam Jackson, Head Coach Doc Nash, Assistant Coach Ray Weatherford, Assistant Coach Kaden Nolot, Athletic Director Toby Cheatham, Assistant Athletic Director Amanda Cavins, Principal Lisa Nale, and Superintendent Monty Schneider.
