    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring John Ryan upon his retirement from the Department of Child Services.

    Whereas, John Ryan's career has been an accomplished, service-filled affair including many years of dedicated work for the betterment of all Hoosiers;

    Whereas, John earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University- Indianapolis;

    Whereas, John has served the people in numerous capacities within state and local government including the Marion County prosecutor's office, Mayor Hudnut's office, and most recently the Indiana Department of Child Services;

    Whereas, John has help guide the Department of Child Services through a time of great reform aimed at protecting our State's most vulnerable citizenry; and

    Whereas, John will retire in May 2013 to spend more time with his wife, children, and grandchildren: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly honors John Ryan upon his retirement from the Department of Child Services and wishes the Ryan family all the best.     
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to John Ryan.
