on his retirement as head coach from the Snider High School football
program and his transition into the role of athletic director.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Coach Russ
Isaacs on his retirement as head coach from the Snider High School
football program and his transition into the role of athletic director.
Whereas, Russ Isaacs graduated from Huntington
College in 1975 and earned his bachelor of science degree
in business education and administration. He furthered his
education at Indiana University, earning a master of science
degree in secondary administration;
Whereas, Isaacs began his head coaching position with
Snider in 1991, leading the Snider Panthers to an impressive
194-32 record during his tenure. This .858 winning
percentage is the highest in Indiana and one of the best in the
nation;
Whereas, Isaacs led the Panthers to nine Summit Athletic
Conference titles, 13 sectional titles, seven regional titles,
three semi-state titles, and Fort Wayne's only Class 5A State
Championship;
Whereas, Isaacs always stressed, "Nothing is easy.
Nothing does itself. Character and action are everything."
He consistently reminds his players that football should
never come before God, family, or school;
Whereas, In addition to being an educator and a coach,
Isaacs is a role model. His desire for the success of the
football program was driven by every individual player's
attitude and classroom success;
Whereas, Current head coach, Kurt Tippmann, said
about Russ, "He has instilled in me that honesty, in whatever
the situation, is the best way to deal with people. He has
taught me how to lead others, to serve them, and not rule
them"; and
Whereas, Russ Isaacs' devotion to the Snider football
program and to the students of Snider High School has set
him apart from his colleagues. He has proven to be an
invaluable asset to the city of Fort Wayne: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly congratulates Russ
Isaacs on his retirement from coaching the Snider High School football
team and transition into the position of athletic director.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Russ Isaacs, his family, and Fort
Wayne Snider High School.
