A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating John G. Ellis,
III upon his retirement.
Whereas, Dr. John G. Ellis, III graduated from Indiana
State University with a Ph.D. in Education Administration
and served for twenty years as Indiana's superintendent of
schools, eight years in Jennings County Schools, and twelve
years with Noblesville Schools;
Whereas, Dr. Ellis was Indiana's Superintendent of the
Year in 2004 and was awarded Sagamore of the Wabash by
Governor Kernan in the same year for his dedication to
public education;
Whereas, Dr. Ellis has served as the Executive Director
of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents
since 2004 and received the "Distinguished Service Award"
in 2009;
Whereas, Over the course of his prestigious career, Dr.
Ellis has presented at several state and national conferences
including the National School Boards Association, the
American Association of School Administrators, and the
National Public Relations Association;
Whereas, Dr John G. Ellis, III has spent over thirty years in school administration dedicating his career to
improving the lives of the students of Indiana and
strengthening public education in the State: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly hereby
recognizes the outstanding career and the many community
contributions of Dr. John G. Ellis, III and honors him upon his
retirement.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Dr. John G. Ellis, III.
