A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
insurance.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. IC 27-7-5.1 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
AS A NEW CHAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE
JULY 1, 2010]:
Chapter 5.1. Miscellaneous Motor Vehicle Insurance Provisions
Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "motor vehicle insurance policy" means a policy that provides the kind of coverage described in Class 2(f) of IC 27-1-5-1.
Sec. 2. A motor vehicle insurance policy must provide the same amount of coverage for a loss, expense, or liability incurred by the operator of the insured motor vehicle regardless of who the operator of the motor vehicle is.
Sec. 3. A motor vehicle insurance policy that:
(1) is issued, amended, or renewed after June 30, 2010; and
(2) violates section 2 of this chapter;
is considered to provide the coverage required by section 2 of this chapter.
