Synopsis: Election day per diem. For elections conducted after
December 31, 2011, increases the election day per diem for precinct
election officers by at least $20 over the per diem paid for elections

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
elections.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. IC 3-6-6-25 IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS
[EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011]: Sec. 25. (a) Except as provided by
subsection (b), each inspector, judge, poll clerk, assistant poll clerk,
and election sheriff is entitled to a per diem fixed by the county
executive for the performance of all the duties of office imposed on the
person by this title that are performed on election day.
(b) For elections conducted after December 31, 2011, the county executive shall fix the per diem under subsection (a) at an amount that is at least twenty dollars ($20) more than the per diem paid for the last election conducted before January 1, 2012.
