    A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Diana Dibkey on the occasion of her retirement.

    Whereas, Diana Dibkey will be retiring after thirteen years of service as the Executive Director of Dunebrook, a child advocacy and family support organization serving Newton, Jasper, Porter, Pulaski, Starke and LaPorte counties;

    Whereas, Diana Dibkey was part of a small group of individuals concerned by the lack of support available for at- risk parents and children involved in child abuse investigations in Northwest Indiana ;

    Whereas, In 1989, after years of research and discussion of the best practices of child welfare organizations around the country, this small group of individuals formed Dunebrook, where child advocacy, prevention, and intervention work together;

    Whereas, Dunebrook has worked for over two decades to

increase community awareness of child abuse and neglect and to coordinate services for child abuse victims and their families;

    Whereas, Dunebrook strives to prepare children for success by the time they enter school through site-based programs and in collaboration with many agencies and organizations across the state;

    Whereas, Dunebrook is child centered and a safe place devoted to nurturing families, helping parents, and advocating for children;

    Whereas, Over 400,000 families have received Dunebrook services since its founding and many more families have benefitted from Dunebrook's primary education services;

    Whereas, Diana Dibkey first served on the Board of Directors of Dunebrook and participated in advocacy work;

    Whereas, Diana Dibkey left Dunebrook for several years to work in South Bend before returning to serve as Dunebrook's Executive Director;

    Whereas, Although Diana Dibkey will miss Dunebrook deeply, she is excited by the new and exciting prospects that lie ahead of her; and

    Whereas, It is fitting that Diana Dibkey be given special recognition for her notable service on behalf of Indiana children and families: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Diana Dibkey on her retirement and thanks her for her years of dedicated service to the children and families of our state.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of

Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Diana Dibkey.
