A HOUSE RESOLUTION to honor Danny Etling for
achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Whereas, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
honor bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
scouting movement;
Whereas, A candidate for Eagle Scout must earn 21 merit
badges, serve in a troop position of responsibility, and plan and
execute a service project that will benefit his community;
Whereas, The charge of an Eagle Scout states that the
foremost responsibility of an Eagle Scout is to live with honor
and that his second responsibility is loyalty;
Whereas, Danny Etling met the standards and requirements
of the Eagle Scout rank and was thus awarded the rank on July
26th, 2013;
Whereas, Danny Etling graduated early from Terre Haute
South High School, earning a 3.8 GPA, and enrolled in Purdue
University;
Whereas, Danny Etling completed a beautification of the
Bethany House Homeless Shelter in Terre Haute to fulfill the
service project component of the Eagle Scout rank; and
Whereas, This fine young Hoosier has demonstrated
outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career,
winning the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he
worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Danny Etling on becoming an Eagle Scout.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to Danny Etling and his family.
