A HOUSE RESOLUTION memorializing Sergeant
Tristan Wade.
Whereas, Twenty-three-year-old Army Sergeant Tristan
Wade died March 22 in Qarah Bagh District, Ghazni Province,
Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with an
improvised explosive device;
Whereas, Sergeant Wade was assigned to the 573rd
Clearance Company, 2nd Engineer Battalion based at White
Sands Missile Range in New Mexico;
Whereas, A native of Indianapolis, Sergeant Wade
graduated from Southport High School in 2009;
Whereas, Throughout history brave individuals like Sergeant Tristan Wade have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom throughout the world; without men like Sergeant Wade, freedom could not survive; and
Whereas, Sergeant Tristan Wade was a Hoosier hero who
selflessly gave his life to defend freedom both at home and
abroad: Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives extends its deepest sympathy to the family of Sergeant Tristan Wade and assures them that Tristan will forever be in the hearts of Hoosiers.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to the family of Sergeant Tristan Wade.
