        A RESOLUTION urging the legislative council to establish an interim study committee to study moped safety issues.
    

    Whereas, As the price of gasoline continues to rise, people are turning to different modes of transportation;

    Whereas, The popularity of mopeds is growing as a means of pleasure and transportation;

    Whereas, This increased usage warrants a greater awareness of the safety hazards involved in the operation of mopeds; and

    Whereas, In order to keep the citizens of Indiana safe,

further study should be done regarding moped safety issues: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the legislative council is urged to establish an interim study committee to study moped safety issues.
    SECTION 2. That the committee, if established, shall operate under the direction of the legislative council, and that the committee shall issue a final report when directed to do so by the council.
