A RESOLUTION honoring Old National Bank on the
occasion of the 175th anniversary of its founding.
Whereas, November 11, 2009, marks the 175th anniversary
of Old National Bank, established and headquartered in
Evansville, Indiana in 1834;
Whereas, Old National Bank, originally known as the
Branch Bank of Evansville, has blossomed from a one-room
office on the banks of the Ohio River to become the largest
financial services holding company headquartered in Indiana
serving individuals, families and businesses throughout
Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and beyond;
Whereas, For 175 years Old National Bank has been
passionately committed to serving the financial needs and
exceeding the expectations of every client it serves while
embracing its leadership role within the communities it proudly
serves;
Whereas, As a true community bank, Old National has
celebrated its 175th Anniversary in 2009 by giving more than
$175,000 to nonprofit organizations and agencies in every
community it serves; and
Whereas, Old National Bank and its associates are
passionately committed to continuing the legacy of service and
strong community banking principles that have made
"Indiana's Bank" successful for 175 years and positioned it as
"THE" financial institution that families and businesses can
bank on for life: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives officially recognizes Old National Bank's 175-year anniversary on November 11, 2009, and the legacy of service to clients and communities that has allowed Old National to grow from humble beginnings into the largest bank headquartered in the Hoosier state.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to board members: Joseph D. Barnette Jr., Alan W. Braun, Larry E. Dunigan, Niel C. Ellerbrook, Andrew E. Goebel, Robert G. Jones, Phelps L. Lambert, Arthur H. McElwee Jr., Marjorie Z. Soyugenc, Kelly N. Stanley, and Linda E. White.
