A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Sean Mappes.
Whereas, Center Grove High School senior Sean Mappes
is carrying on the family wrestling tradition;
Whereas, Sean is the new 170-pound Indiana High School
Athletic Association state champion;
Whereas, Sean scored a 7- 6 decision over a Perry
Meridian High School opponent to become the third
individual wrestling champion in Center Grove's history;
Whereas, Victory runs in the Mappes family. Patriarch Don
won the 1976 state title in the 145-pound weight division and
brother Shelby was the Trojans' all-time leader in victories
with 147 and took third in the 171-pound weight division in
2009; and
Whereas, Excellence in any endeavor merits special
recognition: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates Sean
Mappes on winning the state wrestling championship in the 170-pound
division and wishes him continued success in all his future endeavors.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Sean Mappes and
his family, coach Cale Hoover, principal Matt Shockley, and school
superintendent Richard Arkanoff.
