A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Maribeth Alspach.
Whereas, Maribeth Alspach has spent her life serving the
people of New Whiteland;
Whereas, A Johnson County native, Maribeth Alspach
graduated from New Whiteland High School;
Whereas, Scott and Maribeth Alspach have three children
and six grandchildren;
Whereas, Maribeth Alspach entered the political arena in
1988, when she was elected Clerk-Treasurer of New
Whiteland and served until 1998, when she was elected to the
Town Council;
Whereas, Maribeth served on the Town Council until 2004,
when she was re-elected as Clerk-Treasurer, a position she
still holds;
Whereas, In addition to her dedication to the people of New
Whiteland, Maribeth Alspach is also passionate about
honoring the men and women who serve in the armed forces
defending our great country;
Whereas, Maribeth has worked tirelessly to create Proctor
Park in New Whiteland to honor Sergeant Joseph E. Proctor,
who was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq;
Whereas, Through hard work, dedication, and the help of
many volunteers, Maribeth Alspach raised $200,000 for the
park without the use of any taxpayer funds;
Whereas, Maribeth Alspach also serves as president of the
Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation, an organization that
works to secure donations for school scholarships and other
projects, and is a member of the Franklin Memorial
Christian Church; and
Whereas, Maribeth Alspach has dedicated many years of
her life to New Whiteland and the surrounding community
and her efforts have served to improve the lives of its
citizens: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly thanks Maribeth
Alspach for her years of dedicated service to New Whiteland and the
surrounding community. The people of Indiana extend their best wishes
to Maribeth Alspach and hope for her continued success in the future.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Maribeth Alspach
and her family.
