RESOLUTION



        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the Schnitzelbank Restaurant.

Whereas, The Schnitzelbank Restaurant in Jasper is a family-owned business that has served traditional German dishes for 51 years at its Southern Indiana location;

    Whereas, The Schnitzelbank Restaurant's bratwurst sandwich won the Indiana Office of Tourism Development's Super 46 Sandwich contest by garnering 63% of the vote in the final round over the Mile High Club sandwich from Rock Cola 50s Cafe;

    Whereas, The contest, promoted by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee, and the publishers of Indianapolis Monthly, was designed to showcase Indiana food and restaurants to Super Bowl visitors;

    Whereas, Due to the increased interest in this delicious bratwurst sandwich, the restaurant used 100 pounds of bratwurst each week, up from the 30 pounds that is usually used during the traditionally slow month of January; and

    Whereas, Special accomplishments deserve special recognition: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Schnitzelbank Restaurant for the selection of its bratwurst sandwich as the winner of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development's Super 46 Sandwich contest and wishes the restaurant and its owners and employees continued success in all their future endeavors.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the Hanselman family.
