RESOLUTION



        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION memorializing Representative Tom Kromkowski.

    Whereas, The Indiana House of Representatives, South Bend, and the state of Indiana lost a valued friend with the death of former Representative Tom Kromkowski on Wednesday, September 7, 2011;

    Whereas, Representative Kromkowski represented the West Side of South Bend in the Indiana House of Representatives for 26 years;

    Whereas, In addition to serving in the House of Representatives, Tom Kromkowski worked for AM General for 29 years, retiring in January of 2004;

    Whereas, Tom Kromkowski, a South Bend native, was born on September 2, 1942, to Bert and Virginia (Buzalski) Kromkowski;

    Whereas, A graduate of St. Joseph's High School in 1960, Tom Kromkowski married Janeen K. Beard at St. John the Baptist Church in South Bend on August 10, 1963;

    Whereas, Representative Kromkowski served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of Vietnam;

    Whereas, Representative Kromkowski was also a member of the VFW, the M.R. Polish Falcons of America, and the

Westside Democratic and Civic Club of South Bend, and he served as chairman of the United Auto Workers of St. Joseph-LaPorte County C.A.P. Council;

    Whereas, Representative Kromkowski was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; and

    Whereas, The death of Tom Kromkowski leaves a void that cannot be filled in the hearts of his family, friends, and former constituents: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the family of Representative Tom Kromkowski and expresses its gratitude for his years of dedicated and honorable service to his constituency and the state of Indiana.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the family of Tom Kromkowski.
